Turkey retreats after US launches Operation Overwhelming Concern to protect Kurds
Turkey retreated and called off its ongoing attack against U.S.-backed Syrian Kurdish forces, soon after the U.S. military launched Operation Overwhelming Concern in the region, sources confirmed today.
The operation kicked off late Wednesday, which featured a devastating salvo of senior Pentagon officials offering cautious statements, meaningless platitudes, and minor condemnations of Turkey as it attacked the U.S.-backed militia force that overwhelmingly defeated ISIS.
"Clearly we are very alert to what is happening," Operation Inherent Resolve spokesman Col. Ryan Dillon told reporters. "And we're quite concerned by this Turkish incursion that could threaten to destabilize a destabilized region."
