WASHINGTON – Everyone looks for the creepiest, spookiest, and most terrifying costumes for Halloween, but this soldier is taking it too far—by dressing up as Fort Hood!
“Yikes! I got a big scare when he turned the corner!” said Chief of Staff of the Army General James McConville. “Fort Hood haunts my dreams. Even when I think I can escape the terror, there are new and fresh reasons to dread Fort Hood.”
Pfc. Darrell Freeman usually wins the Pentagon Halloween costume contest with his horror-movie inspired costumes, but no Hollywood reference could beat the unsettling feeling of thinking about The Great Place.
“When I heard about the disappearance and death of Spc. Vanessa Guillen and her chain of command’s tepid investigation, I was upset like anyone else,” Freeman said. “But then as I heard about soldiers disappearing and showing up in pieces in a lake, or with their Jeep on fire, I realized it would be the perfect Halloween costume and my anger turned to excitement.”
