FORT BENNING FORT MOORE, GA — The National Organization for a Sustainable Environment has announced the winner of its annual Earth Day Award for “Outstanding Achievement in The Field of Environmental Excellence. Ranger School commandant Col. Geoff Evans will be presented with the award for his personal commitment to recycling.

“We had a lot of great candidates this year, like the Russian commander who cut his unit’s carbon footprint after surrendering an entire tank division to a Ukrainian orphanage,” said Jack Tupp, President and CEO of NOSE. “But ultimately the choice was clear. Col. Evans was truly in a class of his own, not unlike the one Soldier who passed the most recent iteration of Ranger school.”

“Truly, we are in awe of Col. Evans,” NOSE Chief of Staff ‘Captain’ Kirk Stedders added. “Not only did he oversee the highest overall recycle rate in Ranger School history, he also managed to achieve the coveted 100 percent recycle rate for class 04-2022 after the only RPA first-time-go turned out to be Jim Mattis in disguise.”
