Inspector General personnel investigate allegations of toxic leadership

MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. — One of the Air Force’s premier bio-labs has come under fire for creating a toxic work environment believed to be spreading across the base, sources allege.

The King Biology Research Center, named after retired Brig. Gen. William E. King, is a geographically separated unit assigned to the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Office of Scientific Research. Critics contend sloppy handling of toxic mind-altering agents there has resulted in the contamination of Minot’s workplaces to the point nobody wants to be assigned there.

This criticism comes after six personnel at Minot were relieved of duty in February 2023 over a “loss of confidence” in their abilities. Critics speculate each member was assigned to a work environment contaminated by visits to or from the bio-lab.

Master Sgt. Benedict Plangere at the 5th Nuclear Logistics Squadron asserts that “Toxic work environments are everywhere on Minot. The inspector general says it’s the #1 complaint they get.”

Plangere said, “Minot’s official motto is ‘Only The Best Come North, clearance 14 ft 6 in.’ New commanders arrive and it’s like you’re working for the grandchild of Robin Olds. But if they ever visit that bio-lab, you’re going to end up working for Bill Lumbergh’s bastard offspring.”
