Air Force to revive tops in blue as part of 2023 NDAA

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Congressional approval for the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) includes $6.1 million to revive the Air Force’s popular “Tops In Blue” combat music & dance troupe, Duffel Blog has learned.

The funding bill directs the Air Force Chief of Staff to organize, train, and equip the service’s best musical and dancing talent who are not already signed to exclusive contracts with the U.S. Air Force Band, Air Force Academy Band, nine other active duty bands, five Air National Guard bands, and a deployed band assigned to Central Command.

Rep. George Santos of New York, speaking at the entrance to a Capitol elevator, told Duffel Blog “This is a group that, when I was a member, performed on the Ed Sullivan show, a Super Bowl halftime show, and at the NBA Finals. Only a liar would tell you Tops In Blue isn’t important.”
