Tom Brady: 'Kuwait is not a deployment'

The NFL superstar clarifies his comments.

Tom Brady: 'Kuwait is not a deployment'

TAMPA, Fla. — After NFL Superstar Tom Brady stirred controversy this week by comparing an NFL season to military deployment, Brady amended those comments by clarifying that “Kuwait isn’t a real deployment.”

Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl winner, made his initial comparison when discussing the kind of single-minded focus he believes it takes to succeed during an NFL season. But, upon hearing his comments many veterans and active service members were deeply insulted that anyone would consider a trip to Kuwait as difficult as a 17-game season.

“I don’t know what would lead him to think a comment like that was ok,” said Sgt. 1st Class Mark Cauthron, a soldier who served one year at Camp Buehring, Kuwait in 2019. “Dude got sacked 27 times that season while I didn’t miss ice cream in the chow hall once during that same year.”

Brady’s comments since the initial story have been nothing but apologetic.
