FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kansas — Activision and Infinity Ward's most realistic entry into the Call of Duty franchise, Field Grade, will be in stores and available for download just in time for Christmas and will count for 90 hours at the Command and General Staff College, the companies and the U.S. Army jointly announced Friday.

According to first-time game producer Dougie MacArthur, the new game reconceives the perspective, away from operators and toward relatively high-ranking but almost entirely powerless staff officers.

“It’s a painstaking breakdown recreation of military experiences that many civilians never get to see,” MacArthur said. “Everybody knows about the shooting, fast-roping, and teabagging. But how often do we get to see a year of tedious Staff College lectures by people who haven’t won a war in decades?”

“And these are the no-shit real lectures. You can actually earn up to 90 credit hours toward a degree while dodging threesomes and diddling colonel’s wives and husbands at Fort Leavenworth!”
